Tales from Nature.

Mandarin (Citrus Reticulata) is a fruit tree belonging to the Rutaceae family. It represents one of the three original citrus fruits in the genus Citrus, along with citron and pomelo. The term "mandarin" identifies both the plant and its fruit and has its roots in the history of China: in fact, the name recalls the ancient imperial officials, whose orange cloaks echoed the color of the fruit.

Cultivation of this plant came to Europe around the 15th century. Its leaves appear small and give off an intense fragrance. Mandarin is used to obtain the prized Essential Oil and its derivatives, celebrated for their purifying, invigorating and sanitizing qualities. In cosmetics, these extracts are chosen for the care of skin with impurities or a shiny tendency, due to their ability to refine skin texture.
