Tales from Nature
Papaya (Carica Papaya, in the Cariaceae family) is a plant native to the Moluccas Islands, Indonesia, currently cultivated throughout tropical and sub-tropical areas. The earliest records of the plant date back to the Spanish conquistador Hernan Cortes: the Aztecs offered him "a melon-like fruit" to aid in the digestion of a large lunch.
The people of the Caribbean called papaya the "fruit of the angels," and even Christopher Columbus knew the Papaya plant by this name when he landed in the New World. Papaya is a rich source of energy due to the presence of vitamins and minerals and has a detoxifying and purifying effect.
Benefits
Papaya helps restore hair's natural softness and shine. It thoroughly removes any residual dirt or oiliness, avoiding the use of overly aggressive products that could damage the hair.
It gives volume to the hair, nourishes it and in the case of brittle hair brings nourishment. It moisturizes the skin, keeping it young and smooth, thanks to its anti-aging effect.
