The Secrets of Essential Oils
Essential Oils are substances extracted from the most valuable parts of plants; they are volatile, fragrant, and more or less fluid. The term "Oils" should not mislead, as they have nothing in common with other Oils of plant origin: they are called Oils because they have a lower density than water and cannot be diluted in it.
In fact, when used pure in an aqueous substance they separate and move to the surface, as in Napura vials.

Where are they found?
Essential Oils are the perfect result of the action of light and heat, and are found mainly in flowers and leaves, but also in wood and bark, seeds and roots, fruit and peel, and different oils can be extracted from the same plant.
Their main characteristic is their volatility, which is the speed with which they evaporate when exposed to air or light. This is why it is important to protect pure Essential Oil.

The action through the skin
Essential Oils have a variety of properties and extreme effectiveness of action. They are absorbed through the skin and but also by the respiratory route.
Through the skin: by placing Essential Oils in direct contact with the skin, they penetrate through the dermis, this allows them to carry out their action there where they are needed effectively. The liquidity of vials and shampoos facilitates this dynamic.
The action through the respiratory tract
By the respiratory route: the use of Essential Oils stimulates respiration and various processes that follow; scented Essential Oil molecules reach the nasal passages where they find receptors.
They pass a certain threshold that activates a series of neurophysiological processes that promote the production of substances deputed for example to calm, stimulate, relax, also ensuring the feeling of pleasure to the treatment, thanks also to the characteristic pleasant scents.

Essential Oil fragrances can be grouped into three groups according to the notes they belong to:
BOTTOM NOTES: these are the warmest scents, with the least volatility. They are oils extracted from woods, resins and spices.
HEAD NOTES: these are the most volatile essences, are fresh, are felt first, and dissolve quickly.
HEART NOTES: are the soft, floral scents with medium volatility and form the heart of a blend. They are the essences extracted from flowers, and have a stabilizing effect.
