Tales from Nature

Cacao is the product of the evergreen tree Theobroma cacao, a member of the Sterculiaceae family. It is a majestic plant, native and found mainly in South America, which can reach 10 meters in height. The cultivation and use of cocoa are very ancient. At some archaeological sites dating back to 2,000 B.C., ceramic pots have been found with remains of drinks made from cocoa beans.

In Europe, the first people to taste cocoa drink were the Spanish in 1,500 AD. Cacao Extract is made from the seeds of the plant and is very effective in preserving the water balance of dry and dehydrated skin.

It is widely used in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and perfumery industries, in cooking and in traditional medicine. Cacao can be found within ointments and creams for burns, sun products, cosmetics for nails, skin and hair.

Benefits

Cacao Extract is particularly effective on dry and stressed skin due to its antioxidant and anti-aging power. It counteracts the signs of aging and fights the action of free radicals, protecting cells from the oxidation process that results, including from sun exposure to UV rays and direct light.

It is a fabulous remedy for hair damaged by treatments, dehydration, stress from sun exposure or styling tools, thanks to its powerful emollient and nourishing action. It helps protect against external aggressions and gives new vitality, making hair soft, shiny and silky.
