The Wakame seaweed is a brown marine seaweed that grows among the rock seabed of Japan, Korea and China. It has green leaves with a central rib. Very well known and important in the East, it represents a significant nutritional source, especially for Japan and Southeast Asia.
Recently the seaweed is also spreading in New Zealand, Australia and France, where it is grown along the Breton coast of the Finistère, for food and cosmetic use.
It is known for its content rich in vitamins, proteins and mineral salts, in particular iodine, calcium, magnesium and iron. Thanks to the presence of iodine, the alga is recommended to rebalance the thyroid activity. The wakame seaweed is the third most consumed alga, after Nori and Kombu. It has re -established and stimulating properties, it is useful for the weakened body.
