Scientific name: Sodium Hyaluronate
Classification: Glucosaminoglycan polysaccharide of biotechnological origin.
Humectant, elasticizing, moisturizing.
Tales from Nature.
Sodium Hyaluronate is the salt of hyaluronic acid. Its molecules are much smaller than hyaluronic acid, so they can penetrate deeper layers of the skin more easily. It is used in creams, serums, lotions and cosmetic moisturizing products for the face and body.
One of its best features is its enormous ability to absorb water, up to a thousand times its weight, which is why it can plump the skin, moisturize it and reduce wrinkles, thanks to its anti-aging, firming and elasticizing properties.
It is very well tolerated by the skin, absorbs very well and is often used in treatments for dry and dehydrated skin and hair.
Hair Benefits.
Sodium Hyaluronate in specific hair treatment formulas has humectant, elasticizing and moisturizing properties for soft, full-bodied hair. It gives immediate volume and deep hydration, and thanks to the powerful rehydrating and filling properties of its molecule, Hyaluronic Acid perfects the internal qualities of the hair's keratin structure.
Skin Benefits
Four types of molecules of Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate, and Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer are combined in the formulas of skin care and sun products face and body products with moisturizing, anti-aging, plumping, and elasticizing effects : these four forms of Hyaluronic Acid work synergistically to hydrate the skin at different levels.
High molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid acts on the skin surface, creating a protective barrier that retains moisture and reduces transepidermal water loss. The medium molecular weight form penetrates into the surface layers, improving hydration and imparting elasticity to the skin. The low molecular weight form manages to penetrate deeper, stimulating regeneration mechanisms and reducing the visibility of wrinkles and fine lines. Finally, cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid provides prolonged hydration, creating a reservoir effect that keeps skin soft and radiant over time.
In eye products, Sodium Hyaluronate acts as a true "hydration magnet," plumping the eye area and visibly reducing fine lines and signs of dehydration. Thanks to its intense moisturizing action, skin appears smoother and firmer, regaining elasticity and softness.
