Tales from Nature
Scots pine (Pinus Sylvestris), also known as Scotch pine, is an evergreen tree in the Pinaceae family. It is a major plant species in forestry, averaging 20 to 30 meters tall and found between 400 and 1400 meters above sea level.
It has unmistakably short, brightly colored and especially spirally twisted needles that distinguish it from its peers. Also used in parks and gardens, the species is common in several regions of central and northern Italy; it is most common, however, in the Alps and central and northern Europe.
Essential Oil, used in cosmetic products for its deodorizing, refreshing, stimulating, balsamic and purifying action, is extracted from the plant.
